How the size is measured

the aggregated nameplate capacity in kW AC at a single point of interconnection. PEC states every tier in AC explicitly and aggregates across the site, which makes it the clearest AC basis in the region.

Size bands and what each one obliges

The screens that decide it

Within PEC’s 10 MW ceiling Limit 10000 kW.
The agreement covers generating facilities interconnecting at a single point of ten megawatts or less, at less than 60 kilovolts.
Within the 50 kW AC band that earns the residential Sustainable Power Credit Limit 49.999 kW.
The Sustainable Power Credit rate applies to systems under 50 kW AC. At or above 50 kW the member is paid the Interconnect Wholesale Energy Rate instead, which changes the savings model before it changes the engineering.

Ask the utility this, before you sell it

PEC publishes no percentage of annual consumption cap and no percentage of service rating cap. Confirm whether either is applied in practice at this address.
PEC publishes a separate Requirements for Standby Generation document. If a battery is included, ask which document governs it and whether a non export configuration is required.
What is the current queue time? PEC publishes an overall estimate of four to six weeks and 10 to 15 business days for final inspection, but no binding clock on design review.

Worth knowing before you quote

Two costs an installer must carry into the quote. The disconnect must be visible, lockable, labeled and fused, within 10 feet of the point of interconnection, and within line of sight of the meter or accompanied by a map placard at the meter. A monthly Service Availability Charge applies to every DG account: $32.50 residential, $37.50 small power single phase, $57.50 three phase. And PEC states plainly that installers are not permitted to sign the interconnection agreement or the member acknowledgement form on the member’s behalf. The installer may submit; the member must sign. A modification under 50 kW carries a $250 fee.

Read and recorded 2026-09-12. Rural electric cooperative, outside the Texas interconnection standard. The cooperative's own published documents govern. PEC adopts PUCT Substantive Rule 25.212 by contract for safety and operation. That is the technical rule, not the interconnection and screening rule 25.211, so no state screen framework is incorporated. The agreement itself carries no printed effective date.
