How the size is measured

gross power rating: the total manufacturer AC nameplate generating capacity, which for inverter based systems KUA calculates by multiplying the total installed DC nameplate generating capacity by 0.85.

  1. What is the KUA distribution service rating at this address? The gross power rating must not exceed 90 percent of it.
  2. Confirm the Tri-Party Net Metering Purchase Power Agreement with FMPA is included. KUA is bound by the FMPA All-Requirements contract and cannot buy the excess itself, so this third signature is required and is the step installers most often miss.
  3. What is the current queue time? KUA executes within 30 calendar days of a completed application and issues permission to operate within 15 business days of documentation and the switch demonstration.

Worth knowing before you quote

KUA publishes no percentage of annual consumption cap and no aggregate program cap; it limits by the 90 percent service rating test instead. The executed agreement must be used within one year of KUA execution. Adding a second generation system requires 60 days advance written notice.
