Size bands and what each one obliges

Single phase, up to 15 kWac Size 0 to 15 kW	Single phase connections are permitted up to 15 kWac. General liability insurance of at least $100,000 is required, and in residential applications a standard homeowner policy at that amount may satisfy it. The agreement covers a system having an array rating of up to 100 kWac, the lowest published ceiling found in Florida. Above it, contact the City before designing further.
Within the 15 kWac single phase limit Limit 15 kW.
Above 15 kWac a three phase balanced interconnection is required. If the service is single phase, price that upgrade before quoting. This constrains large residential jobs in Tallahassee more than anywhere else in Florida.

How long does approval, inspection and meter set take? The City publishes no timeline at all.

Worth knowing before you quote

Tallahassee publishes no application fee, no percentage of consumption cap, no aggregate program cap, no storage provision and no timeline commitment. Credits carry forward on a rolling twelve month period and expire: in no event is the owner paid for excess energy at the end of that period. The City retains the renewable energy credits, which limits what a savings claim to a customer can say. Any modification to the system terminates the agreement and requires a new one.
